UPDATE: I spoke with the lab and they requested a few additional samples tonight using an alternative collection kit with a different transport medium that will help them when processing multiple panel types. I will share images after collecting. Results on track for Friday.

Unreal... the specimens did not arrive at the laboratory this morning. All other specimens from customers around the country arrived this morning at 7:13AM. Tracking on the label shows origin scan and pickup, nothing after. We've shipped millions of specimens on this same exact

Many folks messaging and responding saying that I’m an idiot because of course there will be bacteria and virus in the fog as these viruses and bacteria exist in nature. That’s interesting to me and definitely makes sense, but isn’t a reason to not perform the tests. I’ll

Processing has completed. Initial results show only one detection: Serratia marcescens (a gram negative bacterial MDRO) @ 2.3 x 10^3 copies / mL. This detection was only found on 1 of the 5 specimens that were collected. This particular specimen (WD85-93-81A10) was collected on

3 collections made. The fog wasn’t as bad this morning which isn’t good for the experiment but is good for us. I was still able to collect 3 specimens relatively easily. I’ve also included a video of one of my exterior cameras above collection site #1 to show the dense fog at

UPDATE: Fog not as prevalent tonight but slowly starting to come in. I will be waiting until early morning to collect the final specimens. From there, the sealed tubes will be packed in individual BioHazard bags as shown in the picture above, and then packed in UPS Medical Lab

Samples have been received as of 8AM. Tamper seals not broken. Buffer being tested for validity. Samples being mapped in duplicate across multiple panels. I am monitoring the LIS remotely and see good progress. We will be / are running approximately 25 different tests in total

UPDATE: Specimens are packed and have been picked up. Lab staff has been notified and will process upon receipt. I will provide another update tomorrow morning when delivery is confirmed and processing begins. And now we wait...

UPDATE: Nearly 10-hours after our operations team raised hell and an 'internal investigation' was opened, we have a glimpse of hope. We've received word that the package has been found and is en route. Tracking has been updated accordingly as well. I will believe it when it hits
