    Despite rhetoric on #healthinequalities, the current UK #vaccination strategy discriminates against poorer people. 🧵 below on why. Immediate action needs to be allowing vacc sites to move down cohorts (& providing supply to do so) @CdsPcn @NikkiKF @CMO_England @Jeremy_Hunt

    We got through our over 80's cohort on day 1 of vaccinating. We're desperate to be able to vaccinate the bulk of our eligible patients (i.e cohort 4) but @NHSEngland say 'no'. We can vaccinate, and we want to, but we're having 2 weeks with no deliveries.

    Calling for 'more GPs' isn't enough. Unless the GP workforce is distributed in line with population need, we'll further widen inequity in provision of #generalpractice. And boy is it currently inequitable. Great to collab with @JohnFord1849 & co on 👇bjgpopen.org/content/early/…

    Now I am one with the sofa. But 👍 to this great city @LondonMarathon today. Absolutely cracking atmosphere. Scamper time was 3.33 🙌 to all the random strangers for cheers and to all those who volunteered #LondoMarathon2019

    My preference is to talk about 'how to increase vaccine confidence' (rather than 'vaccine hesitancy') & 'under-served' (rather than 'hard to reach') people. Interested to know what language others think is best. bmj.com/content/372/bm…

    Poverty is a risk factor for death from #COVID19 , but it's overlooked by the JCVI. Many of my clinically extremely vulnerable patients live in overcrowded, inter-generational households where relatives still have to work outside the home. They can't shield properly.
