    When my grandfather went to University of Maryland School of Law in the late 1950’s the tuition was about $200 per year. By 1970 it was about $400. Today if it had kept up with inflation it would be about $2,600. It’s actually more than $31,000. Students deserve better.

    It costs an estimated $790 to fully dress a police officer in riot gear. It costs an estimated $11 to dress a medical worker in PPE. Which one of these groups do you think is running low on equipment across the nation?

    Which candidate am I for? The one who supported Jesse Jackson in ‘84 and ‘88 The one who was a leader of CORE and a friend to SNCC. The one who actually got arrested fighting racism. The one who Rev. Jackson just endorsed for 2020. I’m for @BernieSanders.

    Mom called & said: “I grew up in segregation in Maryland Got picketed at my high school Had to leave... It was illegal for your dad and I to get married or stay there And now you’re running for Governor Thank you... It’s just healing.” (& then she cried) (& I did too)

    On death row, Troy Davis asked me to help make sure his nephew got to & thru college. Today Dejuan is wrapping up in Physics at #Morehouse!

    Bernie is a Democratic Socialist. Like many of our Allies In Europe. His policies mirror the ambitions of MLK & FDR. Anyone Democrat getting hysterical, calling him a “socialist” or a “communist” has had their brain coopted by the GOP and is embarrassing us on the world stage.

    I didn’t have a black male teacher until I got to college. He told me I would make a great Rhodes Scholar. I applied...& won. Last year, I taught my first college course. I encouraged all my students to apply. One was Jordan Thomas. He applied...& won. #payitforward

    In 2011 I was @ death row in GA with Troy Davis & his nephew Dejuan. Troy: If they kill me you’re his uncle. Me: Sure. What do I need to do? Troy: Make sure he gets a college degree & a career. Today Dejuan graduated #Morehouse. Tomorrow he’ll be @ work as an engineer!
