    Bill Self said Keion Brooks tried out for his USA Basketball team and didn't make it. Self asked Brooks (career-high 27 points) after tonight's game: "You still that pissed at me because we didn't pick you for the squad?"

    NEW: The first person I interviewed this morning was Jeff Sheppard. His first words re: the news that Mark Pope would be Kentucky's next coach: "I’m pumped up. I’m so excited. This is going to be awesome." Much, much more from the UK basketball great:
    Mark Pope (41) and Jeff Sheppard (15) played together on Kentucky’s 1996 national championship team. Surrounding Pope and Sheppard are teammates Oliver Simmons (51), Nazr Mohammed (13), Walter McCarty (40), Antoine Walker (24), Allen Edwards (3), Derek Anderson (23), Tony Delk (00) and Anthony Epps (25).

    NEW: Right after the buzzer, young teammates flocked to Reid Travis, who had just played his final game. They all told him the same thing: "I love you."
    Kentucky’s Reid Travis sat in the locker room after UK’s overtime loss to Auburn. Travis played 44 of the game’s 45 minutes and finished with nine points and six rebounds.

    Oscar Tshiebwe also addressed the loophole that would allow him to transfer if he does ultimately decide to return to college. He moved to put an end to any speculation there. "I will never transfer. Kentucky’s my home."
    Oscar Tshiebwe was the national player of the year for the 2021-22 season and once again led the nation in rebounding during the 2022-23 campaign.
