One of the eight billion owners of Fables. Actual Scottish Lord. Writer and sometimes artist.
- It’s John Byrne’s 75th birthday today. Many happy returns on the day, John.
- No, I am not in any way soured on Fables. And I’ll happily still sign Fables books and talk Fables at cons. I’m just soured on a certain publisher that joined the dark side.
- Thank you so much to every comic book reader who picked up, or will pick up, issue 1 of FIRE and ICE today. If you enjoy it, please tell your friends. If you hate it tell your enemies, so at least they’ll have to share your suffering.
- For the record I didn’t “throw Fables away.” I prefer to believe I’ve increased its value by a factor of seven to eight billion.
- Several questions have poured in over Fables rights. No, this doesn’t include the right to reprint previously published Fables books and stories. And if you come out with your own Fables books, others couldn’t decide to reprint them. “Create your own” is the new order of things.
- In answer to far too many requests, I’m tempted to explain the delays in issues of Fables: The Black Forest, since DC refuses to do so. Short version: I handed in every script more than two years ago, and, for multiple reasons, haven’t worked with/for DC since. I fired them.
- I’m thinking of cutting off all communication with my mom, because of the way she voted this morning. I may even stop visiting her grave.
- Since someone jumped the gun, here’s a link to my press release.
- Sometimes at cons I’d draw a comic strip on my table. I’d draw and letter the thing upside down and backwards, so I could stay on my side of the table and visitors could read it. I have skills, baby!
- One of my TSR paintings, with the unpublished part still attached, revealing how completely unserious I could be. I’d like to claim I’ve grown up since then, but the evidence may suggest otherwise.
- You get a call inviting you to come work with The Frazetta Girls and look what happens. Wonderful things arrive at your door.
- I’ve just sent out the promised Fables press release, to many venues, for publication tomorrow. I hope one and all will agree I didn’t waste your time on small matters. If you didn’t receive the press release and think you should, it’s likely because I’d no email for you.
