I may ruffle some feathers here but.....Most coaches talk the talk about "multisport" athletes in HS. But the same coaches make it extremely difficult for those athletes to play multiple sports because they think their sport is more important, needs more time, etc
#ME#GREED
Had a few people ask about our squat progression at our middle school and into 9th grade. Here goes 👇 Body weight, goblet, landmine, zercher, overhead, zombie, front, back. There are some progressions within those progressions.
Weight training in-season WILL NOT make your athletes sore, tired, mess up their shot, take velocity off throws, jump lower or run slower. I hope every HS coach that actually believes these things reads this and has an epiphany
In my experience coaching HS students
Girls - very coachable, highly disciplined, high attn to detail. I spend the most time teaching them to strain
Boys- will strain. I spend the most time teaching them to be coachable, disciplined, and attn to detail

This isn't grit. Grit is having the mental toughness to persevere thru adversity. This is an embarrassment himself, his team, his University and the game itself
When one of our athletes signs to play a sport in college, we try to set them up for success as soon as they walk in the door.
@JusticeFinkley has been at Texas 3 weeks (early grad) and he’s in a rack with the upperclassmen and killing it. @TBecStrength sent me this Monday. 🤘🏽
