- Steve Albini and I have the same birthday. Every year he tweeted me a happy birthday . It floored me he would even do that, dude is a legend
- I met Steve Albini probably 15 years ago in the UK at ATP, a big festival with a ton of sick bands. An effect pedal of ours had broken and Steve appeared at our door with a little tool kit, announced he was here to fix the pedal and quickly, successfully, went to work
- I started drumming in 1989(or 88?). My best friend & I had no musical skills, we both wanted to sing in our new band but I picked the short straw & lost. So I had to try to drum. Still trying! winning, losing, they’re all just doors you pass through, then you take it from there

- on our first Lightning Bolt US tour in 1997 we played a little wooden stage outside a Church’s Chicken in Kerrville Texas. Two kids showed up and an old guy walked out of the woods and said “I haven’t seen playing like that since Jimi Hendrix”. Then he walked back into the woods
