- If you are driving over the pass, be prepared! Traffic is gridlock from Colfax all the way over the summit. Once you pass Colfax there is no power/amenities/fuel for 25 miles. The back roads are all closed or blocked due to down power lines and trees. Plan ahead!
- Motorists traveling on I 80 going over Donner Pass may want to consider fueling up prior to traveling through our area. There are a limited number of gas stations open due to the power outage. #chp #powershutoff
- For motorists being turned at Drum Forebay/Kearsarge Mill Road. Regardless of what your GPS may tell you, neither Road will get you around chain control. They are not passable roads & are both very dangerous roads in winter conditions. Please turn around & wait in a safe spot.
- I-80 chain requirements this morning are from Nyack to Truckee. Travel safe!
- I 80 eastbound traffic being held at Nyack due to downed power lines at Cisco Grove. Expect delays
- Good morning. Chain controls on I-80 E/B this morning are from Kingvale to Boca and W/B from Boca to Rainbow. Travel safe!
- I-80 E/B chain control has been set up at Drum Forebay.
- I80 EB traffic at Baxter is being turned around due to multiple spin outs in the area.
- Colfax fire evacuation routes…. Placer Hills Road south and and I-80.
- Patches of rain and snow over the summit. Drive with caution.
- Due to the recent high level of commercial truck brake fires, the Gold Run Area will be stepping up commercial enforcement in the area this week. Extra commercial units will be in the area enforcing speed and brake check violations.
- I-80 chain controls this morning are from Alta to State Line. Lots of motorists out of their vehicles chaining up so give them space please. Travel safe!
- I80 EB is closed at Baxter due yo multiple spin outs. All EB traffic is being turned around at Baxter. Unknown time to reopen.
