This is one of the Latin Mass communities banished in Charlotte, NC. In their final Sunday TLM, the faithful of St. Ann’s sing the Salve Regina following Mass, as they have done for years. This is the beauty and transcendence so many seek. And it has just been crushed.

Each of the 4 diocesan Latin Masses in Charlotte continue to fill the pews. We are now less than 3 weeks until the 4 masses are banished from parishes. This picture is from yesterday’s TLM at St. Ann’s. Rome is granting dispensations but Bishop Michael Martin refuses to ask.

Per Bishop Michael Martin in Charlotte: the Catholic High School is no longer permitted to use the altar rail for daily OF Mass in their chapel. The attack on reverence continues. Students and staff knelt on the floor anyway and received. #bishopmartin #charlottediocese #CCHS

We were hoping to share pictures from the last Traditional Latin Mass at St. Ann’s. Unfortunately we were unable to. After 17 years the TLM will no longer be offered here. The CLMC wishes to express its gratitude to Fr. Reid, pastor of St. Ann’s, for all he’s done since 2008.

Update from Charlotte: On the same day that the Latin Mass began its exile, Bishop Michael Martin removed the portable kneelers (altar rail) from the Cathedral of St. Patrick, which had been used at Ordinary Form masses for years. Pray for our diocese. @Pontifex #bishopmartin

UPDATE: At Tuesday’s presbyteral council meeting Bishop Martin requested that the use of altar rails be discontinued. We are hearing the meeting was contentious and 3 hours long. Canon lawyers were referenced. Priests & faithful: he can ask but cannot command. USE THE RAILS!

The Latin Mass faithful of the Basilica in Chattanooga, TN were subjected to this deeply offensive sermon by their pastor. A community ruptured for “unity”, subjected to more gaslighting, and of course, the usual bashing of the SSPX. The spiritual abuse is disgraceful.

Anyone who believes that the future of the Church requires the suppression of its past, is erroneous at best, but all too often, malicious and guilty of the anti-liturgical heresy Dom Guéranger warned against. We are encouraged and edified by scenes such as this from Rome today.

From the pastors today: no change in course in Charlotte. The Latin Mass will be out of the four parishes as of October 2nd. Only intervention by @Pontifex Pope Leo can save the TLM in our parishes.
