I grew up a coach’s kid. Spending time with my dad meant Saturdays in the field house&game film on Sundays. I watched him open our home up to any player that needed it & fill roles missing in player’s lives. Before you get to criticizing remember it’s more than just 4 quarters.

- It amazes me how many athletes go to college & come back ready to quit or transfer after one semester... Lol what part were you confused about? You are now in college. EVERYONE IS THAT GOOD. 👏🏻 Work harder. Don’t just give up.
- College athletics changed my time management for life. I get so nervous about being late I show up 15 minutes before the actual 15 minutes early that I’m suppose to be somewhere. #Lifeofathletes
- Don’t talk about how bad you want to be recruited if you show up late to class with your air pods in & have to ask your teacher for a pencil everyday. If you want people to take you serious, show them. Simple.
- Remember when you sign with a college that college coach basically said I TRUST YOU WITH MY JOB. Don’t take that lightly.
- A new boy came to our practice & I got so excited when I saw his height I anxiously asked “how tall are your parents?” He gave me a blank look & replied “Idk I’ve never met them...” & if that wasn’t a reminder that being a coach is so much more than just coaching idk what is
- I will never understand the “D1 or bust” mentality. Money is money & I promise it will all cash out the same regardless of the division of the school that offered it to you. I’m telling you now, those student loans hit hard.
- My son walked past me with his football, so naturally I hit it right out of his hands. Because you know, ball security. 🏈 #HesOne #Teachthemyoung
- I had an athlete PR yesterday & was so excited & but no one answered their phone call to share the news. I call my mom & give the athlete my phone & my mom just goes ecstatic for them & asking all sorts of questions. So thankful for the family I have.
- The transfer portal is killing high school recruitment.
- If a coach can’t depend on you to give 💯 in practice or in the classroom... Don’t act surprised when they can’t depend on you in competition either.
- if you come onto an athlete really strong in the recruiting process & then they no longer fit your needs or the roster spot is filled. Just tell them. Don’t ghost them. Because eventually I’ll have an athlete you really want & watch me ghost you too. They are still just kids.
- If you really want to be the best. Stop settling for average in practice, weight room, drills, classroom etc. Being the best doesn’t just magically happen when it’s game time. Learn to set yourself apart from the rest in everything you do.
