These images show the conditions of State Route 178 in eastern Kern County. This road is currently closed from Kelso Valley Road to the junction with State Route 14 due to several jackknifed big rigs. Thanks to our Maintenance crews in Inyokern for the photos. #District9onDuty

ATTN DRIVERS: The full closure of U.S. 395 in Mono County has been EXTENDED. The highway is now closed from State Route 203 at Mammoth Lakes to State Route 182 in Bridgeport due to whiteout conditions.

On State Route 108 (Sonora Pass), maintenance crews have reached Upper Sardine Meadow. Here, the snow is between 5 to 7 feet deep. That might not sound like a lot, but as they near the Mono/Tuolumne County Line, they're encountering the heaviest snow they’ve seen this year.

On State Route 120 W to @YosemiteNPS crews have reached Wilson Curve. Elevation: ~9000’. As an excavator works a quarter mile ahead, clearing the top layers of snow from the highway, a loader tears down 10’ - 12’ walls of snow so it can be cleared from the road by a snowblower.
