Great news: #Hwy101 is now OPEN thru #Montecito @SBCounty! Thanks to our crews & contractors who made it happen. Off-ramps in area remain closed so watch for truck traffic & use extra caution. Safe travels, everyone.

Big Sur Coast: Crews continue to respond at numerous locations on #Hwy1 which are showing significant instability as a result of ongoing rain event. New slide covering roadway appeared last night just south of Mill Creek. Crews are being mobilized in advance of clearing weather.

#Hwy1 remains closed on the #BigSur Coast due to a slip out of the road just south of the Rocky Creek Bridge. Convoys will lead essential travelers through closure area daily at 8 am and 4 pm. Engineers on site to observe conditions. Crews working to stabilize edge of roadway.

Big Sur Update: #Hwy1 will remain CLOSED to thru traffic until further notice due to partial washout of road tonight at Mile Marker 30 near Big Creek Br. Our crews/contractor will begin damage assessment, cleanup & repairs at daybreak @bigsurkate @BigSurCC

#Hwy1/#BigSur Update: after being closed for nearly 3 months, Rat Creek will open this Friday, Apr 23 at noon. What an amazing transformation since Jan 28 when 150 feet of road washed out after heavy rains. Big kudos to our crews/contractors for their hard work. @CaltransHQ

Highway 1 is closed this morning from Ragged Point to south of Big Sur due to rockslides. Caltrans is working to clear the highway. Debris will be removed tomorrow behind the catchment at Paul’s Slide where it has reached the top of concrete barriers. No estimate for re-opening.
