- The owner of this Nicolo Gagliano violin, made in 1758, is relieved after its safe return. The violin was taken in a burglary. Chicago Police Detectives and Officers worked hard to ensure its safe return.
- Sergeant Joe Kipka retired today after 29 years as a Chicago Police Officer, with over 21 years as a Sergeant. The entire 1st District Community wishes Joe the happiest and healthiest of retirements!

- A resident, who was struck by a vehicle and sustained serious injuries came by the 1st District to thank the two officers who responded on scene to help her and her 7 year old daughter. The daughter provided crucial information to the responding Officers while mom was unconscious
00:00 - 1st District Tactical Officers were on patrol near Randolph & Michigan last night and conducted a traffic stop in which 2 illegally-possessed firearms were recovered. These Officers continuously put their safety on the line to help keep our streets safe. Felony charges approved.
- Congratulations to Commander Zuber on her retirement after 30 years of dedicated service with the Department. We thank you for everything you have done for Chicago!
- On Wednesday a Salvation Army Bucket was stolen from a Loop corner. The 1st District Tactical and Foot Patrol Teams conducted a successful investigation and today were able to recover the Bucket and make an arrest. We support the SA and their blessed mission. Great Job!
- 200 block of West Harrison; 1st District Tactical Officers conduct an investigative traffic stop which revealed open alcohol being transported, illegal controlled substance and illegally possessed firearms and laser pointer. Suspects placed into custody and charged.
- The 1st District sincerely thanks the Triple Crown Chinese Restaurant for providing boxed dinners for our Officers tonight. We appreciate the generosity of our Community Partners!
- Please be advised, the Chicago Police Department will be conducting a training exercise downtown this evening and overnight, utilizing numerous resources. It will be similar to what was done last summer. Don't be alarmed if you see this deployment training exercise.
- Numerous felony charges approved, including Armed Habitual Criminal, after 1st District Officers conduct a premise check of a location on the 800 block of S Wabash. The subject fled the scene by crashing into the Officers vehicle and placed into custody after a foot pursuit.
- This weekend the 1st District Tactical Team were addressing Drag Racing / Drifting issues on Lower Wacker Drive. They conducted a Traffic Stop which resulted in an Arrest, the recovery of the below Weapon and an amount of Narcotics, and the Impound of a Vehicle. Job Well Done!
