We do not accept the narrative of ‘regrettable incidents'. We do not accept it, because what has happened to @MSF’s convoys and shelters, is part of a deliberate pattern of attacks on humanitarians, health workers, journalists, @UN personnel, schools, and homes. @AJEnglish

After a day’s delay, I have just crossed the Rafah crossing to visit @MSF teams in the #Gaza Strip. The sea of humanity as you enter is overwhelming, people are everywhere. A ground invasion of Rafah would be catastrophic and must not be allowed to happen.

A child’s picture from the @MSF Mental Health room in the Al-Shaboura clinic, #Rafah #Gaza. People “joke” that *Post* Traumatic Stress disorder (PTSD), doesn’t apply in Gaza as - like the physical wounds - the mental wounds keep coming.

In addition to violent trauma, it’s inevitable that the indiscriminate bombing of a population under seige will rapidly deteriorate their health in other areas. The activities run by @MSF in Al Mawasi #Rafah take pressure of other hospitals, while diarrhoea and malnutrition rise.

As I arrived in the @MSF supported Al Aqsa hospital in #Gaza, the morgue was full from bombing nearby the night before. The pressure on the hospital is excruciating, medics must decide between beds for trauma patients, and beds for malnurished kids.

We are outraged and strongly condemn the killing of our colleague, Fadi Al-Wadiya, in an attack this morning in Gaza City. The attack killed Fadi, along with 5 other people including 3 children, while he was cycling to work, near the MSF clinic where he was providing care.

Opening land crossings like Erez is the only serious way to scale up aid into #Gaza BUT: -like the use of airdrops, this move is not a sign of success but an admission of failure of aid provision - it is evidence that @CIJ_ICJ ruling on provision of humanitarian aid is not met

Such a privilege to meet this little guy and his Dad, they were in arms the whole time I was talking to them. I was invited back in to see his leg without the dressing; the @MSF medics showed me how well it was healing. It’s amazing what quality care and kindness can achieve.
