URGENT: Marcellus Williams is scheduled for execution next week. He is INNOCENT. The Governor of Missouri can and should prevent this. Please reach out to him and ask him not to allow this execution to go forward!

.@GovParsonMO Please do not let Missouri execute #MarcellusWilliams, an innocent person — where there is overwhelming evidence that his trial was constitutionally unfair — on 9/24. shorturl.at/K7jDT

The Supreme Court has denied our requests for a stay of execution. Thank you so very much for your support. Please pray, take a moment of silence, or send your best thoughts to Mr. Williams and his loved ones. 💔

Since 1973, over 185 people have been exonerated from death row. Over half of them are Black. Abolishing the death penalty is a matter of racial justice. This #WrongfulConvictionDay, the fight for a fair and just criminal legal system continues.

What a huge loss. Tree was brilliant and an absolute warrior for justice. He was also incredibly kind, generous with his time and a mentor to many, including me. May he Rest in Power. Charles Ogletree, legal scholar who championed reparations, dies at 70

Ineffective assistance of counsel is a leading cause of wrongful conviction. Today's decision will leave innocent people in the nightmarish position of having no court to turn for justice. It underscores the need to properly resource our public defenders & appointed counsel.

Establishing innocence and overturning a wrongful conviction is never easy. Today's Supreme Court decision makes it that much harder to secure justice for wrongly convicted people. Read @ChristinaSwarns' op-ed to learn why this decision is step backward. nyti.ms/3lyl0hY

This is excellent. When I was in jury duty in Newark, we were asked whether we believed the criminal justice system was fair. It seemed pretty clear that a “yes” answer would provoke either a cause or peremptory, leaving only those who saw no problems w/our very troubled system.

Wow: NY Court of Appeals rules that the Sixth Amendment requires a jury trial for people facing trial for crimes which, if convicted, will subject them to deportation. #AppellateTwitter nycourts.gov/ctapps/Decisio…

Words cannot express our gratitude to @ava and @netflix! This gift will support the ongoing work of @innocence project to correct and prevent wrongful convictions, like the one endured by the Exonerated Five.

Read. This. The DNA says he didn't do it. The Prosecuting Attorney says he's innocent. But Marcellus Williams -- an innocent man --faces execution in Missouri in 50 days. #SaveMarcellus
