Every day I went to work after this, cops would show up to my calls to intimidate and harass me. That’s how I know it worked! Proud to play a small part in the fight against Cop City, proud to bring abolitionist action to DSA. As for rank and file cops- fuck em!

Men with jobs in EMS, healthcare, the fire service, etc are pretty open about it. It’s uncontroversial in fields with high suicide rates. You either talk to someone or risk becoming a statistic. If someone thinks less of me for it, that doesn’t affect me at all.

NYC has two Jewish ambulance services. The volunteer one responded to this incident and refused to treat the Black boy who died due to their neglect. The for-profit one is an equal opportunity employer, but mostly caters to Jewish patients. I worked there for a year.
