- Preseason workouts…where leaders emerge & the uncommitted get exposed.
- If you GET to say you have: practice after school, a game Friday night, morning workouts, weekend practices, film sessions, team meals, study halls....take advantage of it & embrace your opportunity!!! There will come a day when all of that isn’t an option ⏳
- Coaches will always take risks on a kid that works hard.
- PLAYERS: earning an offer isn’t just a coach thinking you’re good…they believe in you. They want to coach YOU some day. There’s a whole lot more that goes into it besides them thinking you can help them win some games.
- Shoutout to all the college coaches who respond to your emails 🤟🏼
- A packed gym AND college coaches sitting on the baseline…basketball is back.
- Since Sept 1, 2019, I’ve been wearing a bracelet with a team goal inside of it. My players didn’t know what the goal was & they never asked.. they just worked. Our season came to an end last night. While we were reminiscing & crying, someone asked to open it. Goals were met ❤️
- Coaches & players...keep your “bubble” small & tight. Too many people want to cause distractions & make irrelevant things relevant.
- PLAYERS: The amount of points you score does NOT indicate whether you had a “good” game or not!
- If there are going to be aau tournaments, families taking vacations, shopping at the mall, 7 on 7’s, pumping gas at the gas station, summer camps, grocery shopping, workout classes, working in retail/fast food/at the office....then there needs to be school & HS sports‼️‼️‼️
- At this point in the season, it is CRUCIAL to understand that your ‘next practice’ is the most important practice of the year...the ‘next game’ is the most important game of the year. Time is ticking...
- Coaches don’t want players who are committed when it’s convenient...we want players who are invested consistently.
