- All HS baseball players want an offer, but they all don't want a 5:30-7am workout, classes 8am-3pm, 3:30-6:30pm indy/team practice, 8-9:30pm study table & challenged to do extra studying & skill work in spare time. Don’t forget about eating. Takes a special person to do it well.
- Blessed to announce my top 4 offers: 1) Fix gate on fence 2) Clean garage 3) Cook dinner 4) Do the dishes Will announce decision at 7pm. Please no interviews. Recruits - does this sound silly? Well, this is how you sound when you announce offers. Announce commitment, not offers.
- Honored to announce that I’m the head baseball coach at Dakota State University. Thanks to Director of Athletics Jeff Dittman and the search committee for entrusting me to lead the program. My family and I love Madison and we believe in the mission and vision of DSU. #BeTrojan⚔️
GIF - Recruiting has changed. It’s more transactional now—less about relationships and the right fit. The wrong things are winning out. @DSU_Baseball_ will not be moved. Our why will always be personal, academic, and athletic development. We need to get back to what really matters.
- Student-Athletes: Please don’t make decisions this New Year's that will ruin your academic and athletic career, your life, or the life of others. Make it a great New Year’s celebrating with family and friends, but more importantly, be safe as we transition from 2019 to 2020.
- My heart is full. I live 2 block away from our field and while out walking the dog, I come across one of our players in a cage by himself getting some work in. Took this pic from a distance. Man, I miss being around our guys every day. Look forward to getting together again.
- After dipping for most of my adult life, I’m 1-year smokeless tobacco free today. LETS GOOOOOO! (insert “Carlton Dance” here)
GIF - All HS baseball players want an offer, but they all don't want a 5:30am workout, classes between 7:30am-1:50pm, 2:20pm-5:30pm team/Indy practice, 2-3 hours of work learning after practice (unique to EC), 8:30pm study table & challenged to do extra skill work in their spare time.
- COVID-19 is a time that college baseball players who have created ways to get better, and continue to do so throughout the summer, will close a gap with players who have made excuses why they can’t. COVID-19 is an opportunity, not a distraction.
- I accepted Jesus Christ as my personal Lord & Savior November 11, 1992 & I've shared many special moments w/ my best friend & wife, Lisa, in our 24 years of marriage. Today, as a profession of our faith, my wife & I are being baptized together w/ my team watching. #Blessed
- Maybe your path is harder because your calling is higher.
- Collegiality in college baseball is amazing. You will not find it in another sport at the level of college baseball, bar none. For example, allowing other teams to use facilities when they travel exemplifies this spirit. It happens at all levels and all across the country.
