    RECRUITING TIP: Coaches don’t want to see you take contested shots; they want to see if you can make/create open shots. Coaches would rather see you score with a degree of ease than a degree of difficulty.

    RECRUITING TIP: Be loud! Its the easiest, most surefire way to ensure you’ll stand out. A vocal and encouraging player is on every coach’s wish list. Even if you’re having an off game, your communication should always be on.

    PLAYERS: Here’s the unspoken part of the recruiting process. That offer you just got, someone else got, too. Take inventory. Do your research. Make sure you’re a priority before you commit. But also realize that offer may be first come, first serve.

    RECRUITING TIP: Go where you can grow. Pick a program that’s willing to invest in you as a player, person, and professional. Your new coaching staff should be willing to commit to you the way you’re asked to commit to them.

    PLAYERS: Catch the ball with the intent to shoot. Drive the ball with the intent to score. Cut with vigor. Be purposeful!

    PLAYERS: Here’s the deal about playing time. It’s a coach’s job to put the best 5 on the floor to help the team be successful. If you find yourself complaining about not being 1 of those 5, that’s just one more reason for you to NOT be on the floor. Be a fountain, not a drain! 💭
