You usually only hear business stories from people who are trying to promote themselves. This is the story of Anne M, a woman who “accidentally” bought a small glass business in her 60’s and grew it into the 17th largest glazing company in the US

    Replying to @CohenSite
I still can't believe Councilmember Padilla used *forcing a developer to reduce the size of an affordable housing project* as an example of how she is making housing more affordable for the people in her district!

There’s one property management company in LA whose speciality is buying old buildings, ripping out the contemporary bathrooms, and putting in bathrooms that look like this. They get some of the highest rents in the city and have a waitlist for units

Sometimes a new development just stops you in your tracks. This is a NEW CONSTRUCTION condo complex, not adaptive re-use

How is this not a bigger scandal? LA County is paying a $2 million settlement to its highest-ranking non-elected employee because she is claiming “emotional distress” from a ballot measure that eliminates her position. Does nobody have shame any longer?
