- There's now a full fabric PRC flag planted on the surface of the Moon after it was deployed from one side of Chang'e 5's descent stage just before ascent stage's launch. Whatever your opinions on the PRC are, this photo definitely has significant meanings in spaceflight history.

- SHOTS HAVE BEEN FIRED. I REPEAT, SHOTS HAVE BEEN FIRED. In a seminar to Nanjing University, Sun Zezhou, program chief of Chinese Mars mission Tianwen-1, has reported on the Chinese Mars Sample Return mission. TL;DR: Landing on Earth in July 2031, 2 years BEFORE NASA-ESA plans!

- So with 2 successive launches from Vandenberg SLC-4E where the stream got delayed till after liftoff (this one at T+45 seconds), I have some (probably unverifiable) hypothesis: 1. There’s something around SLC-4E right now that must not be filmedThe Falcon 9 first stage has landed on the droneship in the Pacific Ocean. SpaceX started its webcast of the mission after launch.
- So here comes the #SevenMinutesOfTerror With Chinese Characteristics. Tomorrow it is. According to a source quoting CAST's chief adviser of Interplanetary Exploration Ye Peijian in a conference this morning, Tianwen-1's lander/rover will land on May 14 23:11 UTC!
