“She has stepped over the line,” says Scott Morrison of Katherine Deves. He says she not be cancelled or silenced. Well, I was at the forum for Warringah voters in Manly last night and Katherine Deves chose not to attend. She cancelled herself.

Michael Towke has confirmed to us his statutory declaration about Scott Morrison. “Amongst many unedifying tactics used to unseat me from my preselection victory for Morrison, racial vilification was front and centre and he was directly involved.”

It is easy to shrug off the use of public cash for private gain in politics but remember this, by Stephen Charles in @theage today: “Pork-barrelling is not only political corruption, it is a breach of the rule of law and an assault on our democracy.”

Jim Molan is badly wrong on this. I’m a director of the National Press Club and believe the ceo, Maurice Reilly, is right to say we’ll decide who speaks. Of course we should hear from the Chinese ambassador. And we’ll hear from a senior Taiwan rep as soon as possible.
