- This month I celebrate being a registered nurse for 40 years. I have embraced every opportunity in hospital & then found absolute joy in serving a community as a nurse & health visitor 38 years ago, then a Dean in an HEI & now CEx of @TheQNI! Nursing is a fabulous career โค
- In practice today discussing #nursing in the #community & today specifically #districtnursing. The team visited 130 people at home today. That's 130 people (or 5 full wards) who didn't call an ambulance or GP/go to the ED/get admitted to hospital. Let's invest in this service 1/2
- @MattHancock I think you mis-spoke on the BBC news today. Registered Nurses, including General Practice Nurses have been administering the flu vaccine for years. No change in legislation needed. @TheQNI would be delighted to support a shadowing visit to a flu vaccine clinic.
- Thinking of all the nurses in the community battling with the hideous weather to get to their patients today. TY for being there in all weathers, 24/7, 365 days of the year. Truly outstanding service on our communities. @TheQNI @johnunsworth10 @CNOEngland @charlottemcardl @jwcno
- My certificate arrived today! Thank you @theRCN. Deeply honoured to be recognised in this way. Thank you ๐
- It's done! 160 mile round trip to my lovely friend (& my hairdresser for 25 years) and the transformation is complete! Will send off to @HairWeShare on Monday ๐๐๐
- TY Duchess of Cornwall @ClarenceHouse for your lovely words in support of nurses & midwives & those who have lost their lives in the course of their military duties and those who lost their lives to Covid19 in the course of their work. #RemembranceDay2020
- Many congratulations to all the new #QueensNurses who received the news of their award of title yesterday. You are awesome & so welcome to @TheQNI family. TY for your commitment to the people you serve & your expertise as #ExtraordinaryQNs TY to @NGSOpenGardens @GeorgePlumptre
- Yesterday I wrote to @sajidjavid regarding the rising cost of fuel for nurses working in the community. @TheQNI offered to collate examples of good practice - such as employers paying forward - to enable the scale & spread of good practice by employers qni.org.uk/wp-content/uplโฆ
- Nurses are essential in supporting all citizens in our communites. Look at this fabulous infographic which demonstrates how nurses touch lives across the lifespan @TheQNI @SamSherrington @kerry_bareham @ne55hao @alisonleary1 @LouisePatten1 @Alison_Morton2 @BrenJMcinerney
- All done. 26 miles. Took me much longer than expected to๐ฑ. But for a great cause @TheQNI
