Degrom might be the poster boy when it comes to seeing the effects of using elastic properties in the throw. Watch as Degrom’s ability to relax allows him to be able to move so efficiently. Relying on fascial strength and loading dynamics makes throwing a whole lot easier.

Roki Sasaki 102 MPH The harder you try early in the deliver the worse off you’re probably gonna be at foot plant. Throwing is a lot more of don’t mess it up than it is get it right. You’re not good enough to force positions, no one is. - @Pthorsen11

Notice how elite throwers float through positions, nothing is forced. Take it from a goat, just set up the body to be in the best position to rotate. Trying to prevent the torso from “opening” early more times than not promotes premature hip and lumbar extension.

Throwing hard is all about how well an athlete can utilize their center of mass to best capitalize on rotating. Jared Jones is an excellent example of demonstrating the importance of creating time in such ballistic movement like throwing. At the end of the day throwing is going

Struggling to actually "use your legs" during the delivery? It might be a lack of true control/strength on one leg as we want have the movement capacity to actually work w/gravity to drop down the mound, not just an active driving ourselves down to force depth. - @ben_baggett

Doing more is not always better. The throw takes off from proximal movements with distal components as amplifiers. If you’re trying to improve the throw with how the glove side arm is working more times than not you’re looking in the wrong direction.

Stop throwing it at 82 to "find your mechanics." Maybe instead of you forcing yourself to change, you get out of your own way and allow the change to happen by combining what you’re feeling with reality. - @builtbybaggett
