- Willie Green’s first 30-point loss of the season brings his career total to 11. In the franchise’s history there have been only 27 30-point losses in the regular season. Green is responsible for 40.7% of those defeats.
- Goodbye New Orleans. On to the next chapter.
- Don’t care if it’s rest. It’s game 3. At home. You’ve started 0-2 and the fan base is already restless. You have to make the playoffs. There is no backup plan. Don’t give away games in Oct. thinking you can get them back later in the season. It doesn’t work like that.
- I think the NBA did the Pelicans a great favor this preseason. - Going to Australia gave them a jump on training camp and a competitive opening game - A week off to travel and make adjustments based on actual game tape - 2 games vs tall, athletic contenders to gauge progress
- The Pelicans don’t want to play with pace. Otherwise they would. They don’t want to rebound. Otherwise they would. They don’t want to defend. Otherwise they would. They don’t want to win.
- It’s unfortunate, but the Pelicans have decided that I will not be credentialed this season. I understood that was a possibility when I joined @BootKreweMedia, but I was hopeful after months of showing a new direction that they would come around. That hasn’t happened. (1/2)
- Fire him at the end of the third quarter. I’ve seen players removed from the bench in the middle of games for trades. He can go. Let him stay the night in Denver and enjoy the continental breakfast.
- Over his last 26 quarters, Jordan Hawkins is 7-36 from the floor (2-17 3PA). He’s shooting 19.4% overall and 11.7% from beyond the arc. Yet he’s still getting more than 14 min. each night. Hawkins and Looney just aren’t helping at all. Both need to be watching for a while.
- Fouled out the opposing big for the second straight night and couldn’t close.
