Does that mean he qualifies for a free villa and state-sanctioned protection, like Osama bin Laden?

London 2025: A crowd shouting “Zionists not welcome here” through megaphones and loudspeakers, a few hundred yards from my front door. Police officers standing and watching. I don’t usually wear my kipah in the street, but I immediately put it on: I won’t be intimidated -

How cowardly to pick on @NazShahBfd. I - proudly - took my Oath on the Hebrew Bible, wearing my Kipa. “Why do we allow this?” Because we’re a decent, tolerant, welcoming country under the Rule of Law. Which makes space for people of all religions and of none. And even bigots.

Why do we allow this? How is it legal? Members of Parliament swearing in by name of Allah, holding a Quran. Our Monarch is still not allowed to marry a Catholic, yet we have Mohammedans in Parliament. Something is amiss. This is a Christian country.

Perhaps @metpoliceuk might publish a map of London showing those areas where someone can wear a Star of David necklace or a Kipa (skullcap) without facing arrest. And (in due course) a wall might be erected around those areas - for their own safety, you understand.

I can't believe what I've just watched. A Jewish lawyer wearing a Star of David was arrested after the police alleged the symbol had "antagonised" pro-Palestine protesters. He was handcuffed and detained by police for almost TEN hours. DISGUSTING! Shame on you @metpoliceuk.

You can refer to as much “wider context” as you like, but you have not responded to the point, repeatedly put by the officer in the interview, that wearing the Star of David was a “provocation”. Why have you not responded to that central issue?

We have responded to allegations we arrested a man at a protest in August for wearing a star of David necklace. This is not true. The wider context is set out below.
This image outlines our statement on this matter and the wider context for the man's arrest for breaching Public Order Act conditions that were in place to keep opposing protest groups apart. He was not arrested for wearing a star of David necklace.

Parliament, after debate in both Houses, abolished blasphemy laws in 2008. That was the right decision. They shouldn’t now be reintroduced by the back-door.

This has nothing to do with peace in the Middle East, and everything to do with peace in the Labour Party. It will achieve neither.

The most worrying thing about this picture (today, London)? Not the people dressed as - and celebrating - Hamas terrorists. Not the absence of @metpoliceuk. It’s the hundreds, if not thousands, of fellow marchers who saw them, knew and understood - but said and did nothing.

“A university where Jewish students are either not welcome, or are made to feel that they are not welcome, is an institution which has entirely forfeited its right to call itself a university.” My speech in @UKHouseofLords.

If Mr Johnson remains an MP, he’s subject to “the same rules as everyone else” – a basic principle of the rule of law and good governance. For Conservatives, that should be self-evident. If the PM (and some others) had abided by that principle, he wouldn’t have had to resign. /1

Collective hatred of Labour MPs towards ⁦@BorisJohnson⁩ for delivering Brexit and 80 seat maj for Gov taking traditional Labour seats, knows no bounds. This Machiavellian enquiry is the means to a by-election and Con MPs should have no part in it. dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1…

Mr Corbyn is both an antisemite and (it seems) rather stupid. @Keir_Starmer is neither. He’s a clever human rights lawyer. But he’s campaigning for Mr Corbyn to be Prime Minister. That’s why I, and many other lawyers, are more annoyed with Sir Keir than we are with Mr Corbyn.

No, @metpoliceuk: A hate crime is a crime motivated by prejudice towards a victim’s race, religion, disability, sexual orientation or transgender identity. This photo appears to show an offence under ss12/13 Terrorism Act - supporting a proscribed organisation (Hamas).
