    Folks, as we're working on coverage of today's events, I was struck by the photo (taken by Mike Clark) who captured @ZoAndBehold leaving. Of all the things they tried taking from her, they couldn't strip her of dignity. This is the image that will stay with me.

    Smoke flooded into Montana and other western states last month. It barely registered. Smoke hits the east coast and NYC, and national media is suddenly talking about smoke forecasting for the rest of summer. 🙄

    Nope. Montana, 1972 established a right to privacy which protects a medical decision for all Montanans. There are at least three things wrong with that statement.

    It's the legislature's prerogative to set policy regarding life, as it was for over a century until 1999. I urge the Montana Supreme Court to reconsider its role in light of Dobbs and return policymaking to the legislature. news.mt.gov/Governors-Offi…

    Pardon the baseball interruption: As a @Dodgers die-hard, I never thought anyone could measure up to Vin Scully. As with so many things I was wrong. @Joe_Davis is a worthy successor. I'll look forward to the next 64 years with him.

    Four years ago today, my position at the @billingsgazette was eliminated. I anticipated leaving journalism (which I did for 8 mos.). I couldn't have imagined is the opportunity in store for me @statesnewsroom . Best. Job. Ever. Thank you SN and thank you Montana!
