    After every baseball game, I would call my Dad & tell him how it went. He instilled discipline in me & to him discipline=love. At the end of the call he always said, “Love you, give 100%” My Dad passed away last night. I love you Dad and thank YOU for always giving me 100% #rip

    The Pirates today hired David Eckstein as a Special Assistant, Baseball Operations. Eckstein, the younger brother of Pirates hitting coach Rick Eckstein, played in the big leagues for 10 seasons from 2001-10 with Anaheim, St. Louis, Toronto, Arizona and San Diego.
