- Maryland Task Force MD-TF1 @FEMAregion3 Urban Search & Rescue (US&R) team has been activated and is preparing to deploy resources including 45 MCFRS members and swift water assets, to LA in preparation for Tropical Storm Ida. More info will be given as it arrives. @mcfrsPIO
- The snowfall may cover your exhaust vents for your furnace, hot water heater, or other equipment in your basement operated by fuel. If they become blocked by snow, they can cause deadly carbon monoxide to build up in your house. Clear a path outside and stay safe. @DavidPazos15
00:00 - When MCFRS members arrived, the adult male was awake after his guardian angels used the AED to shock him. It was their quick action that helped this adult get transported and to this day, is awake and recovering at a local hospital. - Congratulations to Battalion Chief Mark Davis on his retirement after 40 years of dedicated service. Chief Davis was hired July of 1984 and served in several critical disciplines throughout his tenure, including his most recent assignment as Battalion 1-A Shift. Enjoy. @mcfrsPIO
- Update~4 occupants removed from the home. 1 was pinned and removed via Technical Rescue Team(TRT). - Update~ 10 personnel were removed from the Potomac River by @mcfrs and Fairfax County Swift Water members. Maryland State Police Trooper 3 helicopter assisted by removing 3 adults via helicopter basket. All 10 were given EMS care but none were transported. @mcfrsPIO @DavidPazos15
- MCFRS units responded to a multi vehicle accident with 1 person pinned and 1 vehicle on fire. Preliminary, 6 people were evaluated and transported to area hospitals - some with traumatic injuries. @DavidPazos15 @mcfrsPIO @mcfrs
