Last night I brought Narcan to a girl who was unresponsive on the floor while her friends screamed at me that it was unnecessary and not to give it. Her lips were turning blue. I did it anyway. She abruptly woke up about 15 seconds after. For the love of god get Narcan trained.

Its also scary to be in a position of having to perform any kind of emergency medical treatment on a stranger when their loved ones are not consenting. They refused CPR as well, screamed “SEE?! SHES FINE” When she woke up and then all ran away from us while yelling at each other

They meant well and were clearly scared, just uneducated 😞 people don’t know that it cannot do any harm no matter how much you give or if they are actually overdosing or not.

They insisted she wasn’t ODing and didn’t take anything. Could mean a number of things. Maybe they didn’t know, maybe they knew but were afraid to get in trouble, or she took a non opioid and experienced fentanyl poisoning

No but someone fell out there as well and I ran up with narcan. That girl got up though before I needed to. Luckily staff in both places also was equipped and ready!! I just got there like 15 seconds sooner.

No. Depending on state the person getting the Narcan from the organization or pharmacy may have to pay for it but many states offer it for free.

Confusion and aggression are both actually withdrawal effects of opioids as well. Imagine being fine and then suddenly waking up with medics and stuff. Scary shit!! Gotta give people space and a moment to process what happened to them.

Test strips are known to false positive on mda/mdma. They very likely just involved cops on someone who was not actually selling contaminated product and probably ruined their life and furthered the drug war. This isn’t harm reduction. Harm reduction doesn’t call the cops.
