    Just getting data suggesting some units have had half their usual number of stroke admissions in the last two weeks. Similar findings for heart attack patients. We risk a bigger health burden from untreated heart and stroke disease than COVID. @TheStrokeAssoc @TheBHF @NHSEngland

    Please don’t stay at home if you think you are having a stroke. @NHSEngland @TheStrokeAssoc @british_stroke Our expert stroke teams will be waiting to see you, assess you and get you home ASAP. If you think you have had a ‘mini’/ minor stroke, we maybe able to assess you at home.

    Had COVID vaccine. Thank you NHS! It took me 6 months to get over COVID last year, l am in my 40’s and fit as a flee and COVID stopped me in my tracks. l want to make sure as a population that we can start to live again.. I want to protect my patients, my loved ones, my community

    Stroke medicine is such a wonderful speciality. Super fast acute medicine, advanced imaging interpretation, rehabilitation medicine, palliative care, complex discharge planning, amazing MDT working, tele-health, ground breaking research… the list goes on. What’s not to ❤️ love?

    So much that is good happening in stroke medicine. I feel more optimistic than l ever have that 2020 will see huge leaps in the organised, networked, evidence based approach to delivery of stroke care thanks to @NHSEngland Long term plan and @NHSGIRFT support.
