Today we had thesis seminar of a student Sandhya Menon who had all negative data out of her PhD work and yet managed to publish 2 papers. I m super proud of her as it takes lots of guts to give a seminar rolling out all negative data. Kudos girl. @icmrnirrh @AcademicChatter

We received very offensive comments from a reviewer for our paper. We responded and expressed our displeasure in reply. Today we got an apology email from the chief & associate editors stating it as an oversight and that such comments should not go to authors. This is heartening.

This is so apt. PhD is a journey .. not about papers or impact factors

THE FIRST WOMAN CARDIOLOGIST OF INDIA, Dr. S.I. Padmawati passed away due to #Covid_19 at 103 yrs. She introduced cardiology as a specialization in medical school and set up the cardiology catheter lab. She broke all gender barriers and believed only in science.

Last week Indian science lost two of its pioneering scientists. Padmashri Prof Indira Nath and Prof JP Khurana. Prof Nath was an immunologist and credited for her work in leprosy. Prof Khurana is known for his work in plant genomics. They will he always remembered.

Me and my 78 year old mother vaccinated 9 and 6 months ago are tested positive today for #COVID19 . We both have very mild symptoms. My wife vaccinated 3 months ago is negative. Vaccines work in protecting and reduce sever symptoms. VACCINATE yourself, mask up and stay safe.
