- As an undergrad looking for research opportunities, I was told by several faculty that I simply did not know enough to contribute to research meaningfully. Today, ~1.5 years into my independent faculty position, I'm excited to welcome the 10th and 11th undergrads to my group!
- First paper from The Samanta Lab is now out in @angew_chem! We hope our Minireview can be a practical guide for researchers working on developing DNA-based nanostructures as biosensors. @SeungheonLee_ @Shivudu_G1 @ShadlerNguyen @jasmineklu @sasha__nano doi.org/10.1002/anie.2…
- Celebrating 3 years of our lab! In the past 3 years, students from our group have won over 30 awards! So proud of my team!
- First research paper led by our group is out in @angew_chem! Introducing new tools for #SARSCoV2 & #colorectalcancer protease sensing. Thanks, @AmericanCancer for funding, Anna Capasso for patient samples, & @Imsubratapandit for a heroic effort. Read more:

- We are excited to welcome 4 new graduate students to our group - Yuanjie, Gabriel, Neha, and Shria!
- The Samanta Lab @UTChemistry is hiring! We will combine synthesis (DNA/protein materials), chemical analysis, and single-cell methods to address biological challenges. Multiple postdoc positions available. See devleenasamanta.com for details. Please help spread the word!
- First student from our lab passes his PhD candidacy exam! What an incredibly exciting moment for @SeungheonLee_ and a significant milestone for the lab!
- Today in @J_A_C_S, we report a new method to detect clinically relevant biomolecules using #CRISPR-Cas systems. This platform allows #SARSCoV2 RNA markers to be seen by the naked eye at room temperature without PCR. @sasha__nano @NamrataRamani @CHADNANO tinyurl.com/wk574vv2
