I genuinely don’t understand how a normal person could look at this scandal and not get angry. Private companies are profiting massively from our most vulnerable children, by hugely overcharging our communities. It’s the most disgustingly exploitative of all privatisations.

Providers charge the state an average of £384,020 per child per year, a huge rise from a decade ago. That is multiple times the cost of the country’s most prestigious boarding schools such as Eton College and of its young offenders institutions. ft.trib.al/tGiZ9z0

This is a direct quote. Not a paraphrase. This is a Tory Billionaire saying Starmer has removed any left in the Labour Party and made it into a party which is entirely in line with his own unchanged right-wing Thatcherite views. And Labour are celebrating this. Just remarkable.

A reminder that when any politician talks of "hard choices", they *never* mean hard for powerful wealthy people; they *never* mean hard for them, personally; but they *always* mean hard for YOU.

Why does the question ask about support for Hamas, rather than Palestinians? They’re not the same.

70% Lab voters went WITH Corbyn. 56% Tory voters went AGAINST Cameron. Media narrative : Labour has lost touch with its supporters.

Well I don’t know, Robert. Do you think the entire British media regularly describing Corbyn and anyone who supports his policies as ‘extreme’ or ‘hard-left’ beyond the norms of acceptable society for the last four years, could have had anything to do with stuff like this?

To be fair, watching an idealistic young person worried about her future being manhandled by burly security guys, while being denounced by Starmer to a room full of aggressively cheering suits, is quite a good indication of how the next 5 years will be.

Basically, they were worried that a young charismatic black guy associated with Labour in direct contest with the racist far right, might put off the racist voters Starmer has been working so hard to attract.

When someone is accused of being an anti-semite because they sat in a room while a holocaust survivor expressed a controversial opinion about Israel, I think there's a certain degree of justification in suggestions of victimisation.

In other news, the ERG announces that it jokingly refers to Rees-Mogg as "Der Fuhrer" and its weekly meetings are humorously known as "holding a Nuremberg".

What people need to realise is that this doesn’t show ‘grade inflation’. It shows that every year our exam system deliberately chooses to reduce the grades of tens of thousands of disadvantaged children in order to maintain a quota of ‘failure’. This year is the *real* picture.

A reminder: tonight Labour supported 3 different compromises on Brexit. The majority of Tories opposed every single one. Labour is trying to find a way forward. The Tories are blocking it. Take your ‘both parties’ ‘MPs’ ‘Parliament’ bollocks and shove it. This is a Tory mess.
