To those saying that the confederate flags and swastikas were a small minority of the protesters in Ottawa, here’s a reminder: the maximum acceptable number of confederate flags and swastikas in any gathering is zero.

- In Vancouver for a conference. The first day I went for a run in Stanley Park and had a v-fib arrest. Luckily someone saw me collapse, called 911 and did CPR until EMS arrived. Got 2 shocks, now I’m booked for a coronary bypass tomorrow.
- 3 years ago today I was running in Stanley Park when I suddenly lost consciousness. I woke up 4 days later post-op from a 4-vessel bypass. Sincerest thanks to the bystanders who performed CPR, the paramedics and the staff at St Paul’s Hospital for my second chance at life.
