13 days ago, this beautiful lady presented with CPR on the LUCAS for 45 min, 22 shocks followed by ECPR with VA ECMO. Today she showed up in the office to say hello. We talked about her life for a while and decided her husband of 42 years would cook this year for the holidays!

2am shock secondary to massive PE. Had knee surgery 1 week ago. Presents 70/40 and HR 110 with SOB. McConnell sign positive, CT saddle PE. Hard to argue this shouldn’t be the standard of care for massive PE. No lytics or surgery. PAP 49/36/40 down to 30/24/27. BP 100. #PERT

By the numbers today in the (313). 11 patients on my list. 9 COVID +, 2 others are PUI, 4 on vent, 3 prone. Ages 59, 51, 53, 52, 51, 50, 43, 31, 26. Detroit hospitals are essentially COVID hospitals. PPE readily available today. Frontline was steadfast and strong.

Have we lost our humanity? As a physician I have dedicated my life to saving any and all life. The loss of thousands of innocent children lives is inhumane and should not be tolerated. Don’t dehumanize others, their is no justification this. Have courage to stop this evil.

Submassive PE with hypoxia . Post thrombectomy immediate reduction in oxygen requirements and a significant reduction in right heart pressures while on the table. Home within 48 hours. Hard to imagine not long ago, we would treat this patient with heparin. #PEERLESS

Anterior STEMI secondary to stent thrombosis. Treated with continuous mechanical thrombectomy. TIMI 3 flow established immediately. IVUS and a focal dilation in an under-expanded segment. No new stent implanted.
