- Basketball and therapy overlap again. We call this “acting as if.” We teach patients to identify a personality behavior that they hope to be: joyful, kind, confident, etc... and they “act as if they are” until it becomes a part of their personality.Teams who expect to win do so more than those who don’t. This may seem obvious, but your expectations influence all of your behaviors. When you expect to win, you behave in ways that make you more likely to win; you prepare meticulously, take warm ups seriously & never give up.
