In a cardiology admin meeting yesterday hearing about continued severe nursing/staff shortages threatening normal operations, needing to hire travelers at very high cost. I suggest ending the vax mandate and hiring back the staff who were pushed out and termed. Silence.

- The arrogance and self-importance of these @CDCgov bureaucrats is beyond belief. The reality is that the US would have been better off with no CDC at all during the pandemic. Their performance was a Chernobyl-level catastrophe. Their incompetence delayed the start of widespread
- Today I saw in my hospital lobby a woman struggling to put a (useless) cloth mask on a blind (resisting) 3-year old to comply with @HopkinsMedicine mask policy. This policy has no rationale, no good evidence, and no endpoint. A moment to be embarrassed for my profession.
- More colleges working to wreck another semester for healthy students at virtually no risk from C19. Triple vaxxed healthy 18yo have to wear N95s or double mask AND test twice weekly. No eating together in dining halls. A mini-public health police state. All for $75K/yr.
- Wow. What has happened to our profession? Vaccine apartheid should be denounced and rejected by all health professionals. Irrational, unethical, unscientific, and destructuve to positive vaccine messaging.“Basic means of protecting individuals is stopping the mixing of unvaccinated and vaccinated,” Dr. Kieran Moore Ontario’s Medical Officer Health, Dec. 7, 2021
00:00 - As a cardiologist, I share your concerns @MartyMakary. Recent Lancet and Thai studies, with lower virulence of Omicron and widespread population immunity from prior infection should move @CDCgov and @US_FDA to reevaluate the net clinical benefit in young ppl. Mandates should end.Replying to @MartyMakaryLast yr, the NEJM described a 22-yr-old that died from vax-induced myocarditis & I've heard of many more cases. I have never heard of a young healthy person with nat immunity dying from Covid. Our gov't doctors have not been honest about the risks:benefit in young healthy people.
- One of the most important lessons doctors teach new medical interns on morning rounds: If you do not know something, just say so. If you make something up once, I can never again trust what you say. Sadly, Dr. Fauci (and other “covid experts”) did not learn this lesson. For 3+Yes. I think the video is accurate. And on many other issues his story is inconsistent. He did recommend school closure. In fact he criticized DeSantis for reopening. He recommended cloth masking, at a population level, which he denies. Media won't cover it honestly.
- The narrative “we didn’t know” is a lie. Many doctors and nurses working in hospitals across the US could see by April 2020 that covid was not the existential crisis that lockdown advocates claim. The Imperial and IHME models that panicked leaders across the globe into lockdownI remember these doctors in April of 2020 speaking out against everything that was happening. I knew they were correct then and now the rest of the world knows it too.
- Africa has 1.3 billion people. Total deaths from covid in 3 years = 0.02%. Vax rate far below USA and Europe. Very few boosted. The virus has largely disappeared for almost a year. No one in public health seems interested to understand why. Why?
- This is a beautiful display of the kind of Faucian arrogance, grandiosity, self-importance, and insularity that led the CDC and the rest of the US public health establishment to disaster during the covid debacle. The CDC is not going to recover until this culture is swept awayMy resignation letter from CDC. Dear Dr. Houry, I am writing to formally resign from my position as Director of the National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), effective August 28, 2025, close of business.
- I appreciate the serious concerns expressed in this article. But I also recall that US universities voluntarily shut down almost all laboratory research for months in the spring of 2020 so that everyone could hide in their houses. Why did so few scientists speak up for theNIH has stopped considering new grant applications, delaying decisions about how to spend millions of dollars. The freeze occurred because the Trump administration has blocked the NIH… npr.org/sections/shots…
- Replying to @JeromeAdamsMDAfter 3 yrs of C19, and with the high insurance premiums and taxes they pay, the public is exhausted with the "hospitals are breaking" fearmongering. Every hospital, city, and state should now have a surge plan. Those that do not should fire their CEOs and recall mayors and govs.
