- We’re 5 seasons into Star Trek: The Next Generation and my daughter just asked me: “Daddy..” “Yes, darling?” “Does this…. exist?” “No honey, it’s just a story” “Awww… ok” For the last 7 months my daughter thought we were a galactic civilisation. What a let down.
- This crypto cycle was even weirder than the ICO frenzy of 2017/18. Here’s my pick of the most ridiculous moments of this cycle. TL;DR We deserve everything we got. 👇
- According to this research 97.7% of tokens launched on @Uniswap were rugs. arxiv.org/pdf/2201.07220…
- Replying to @DrNickAThe speakers were the attendees, but they only came for their talk.
- “public blockchains allowed the crypto community to reveal Sam Bankman-Fried’s fraud in the on-chain public record” “[this is] a failure of centralisation, a failure of business ethics and a crime not a failure of technology Decentralisation is the point” This guy gets it
- The Crypto Rug Pull Megathread Might as well get the rest of the crypto skeletons out of the closet 💀💀💀 Here’s my compendium of rug varieties I’ve uncovered in my research over the last few years. TL;DR it’s rugs all the way down 🧵👇
- Honestly, Ethereum needs to be thinking of counter attack strategies here. People will just build centralised proof of authority chains using the EVM, steal a decades worth of R&D. And then poach all the devs. They are not your friends. My take on Tempo as an VC chain / L1: - No client diversity (major risk) - Anyone can just make a token and use that to pay gas? lol - Should be an L2, not L1. Where is the justification for this? Where is the Ethereum alignment? - Smells like another consortium chain, oh well...
- Replying to @DrNickA16/ Bitcoin topping at $69k We did, we deserved this. Next time we see the markets become 100% meme powered it’s time to dump your bags and buy that boat. $420k next time?If this cycle’s top is $69k, we have no one else to blame
- People overly reduce the idea of freedom of speech down to what you can and can’t say. When actually it’s more about a culture of free thought. As lecturer I trained for years to be able to respond to questions quickly. It’s literally brain training. Synthesising knowledge
