Now they've killed Freya, the gentle walrus who meant no harm to anyone.
It's indefensible. Wild animals increasingly have no safe place in this world.
Every single person who ignored the warnings should be deeply ashamed. She had her whole life to live.
Gregoire had been alone in a dark cage in the Brazzaville Zoo in Congo since 1945.
He was all nervous and shaky; no one knew how he’d react, but Jane was fearless.
She rescued him, he lived happily with other chimps for the rest of his life.
Dr Jane Goodall showed us how the

UPDATE:
So the man who abandoned this dog told police he tied him to a fence on his way to Georgia because he “couldn’t find anyone to pick the dog up”

So Norway threatens to kill Freya the walrus because people can't stop taking selfies, throwing things at her & swimming near her with their kids.
A perfect example of everything that's wrong with humanity.

As the Arctic warms, many polar bears have been found with bleeding ulcerative lesions on feet & loss of epidermal & dermal layers unlikely to heal without prolonged rest.
Pain was so severe that gentle palpation elicited responses even under sedation.

What happens to a hedgerow if councils don't spray with herbicides.
Not just pretty. Essential for insects to pollinate crops & feed birds; habitat for small mammals, on which many depend, including owls.
Hedgerows are one of nature's last refuges.
Tell your council.

In the course of my work, I’ve seen permafrost thaw, monkeys dropping dead from trees, river dolphins cooked & penguins dying in Patagonian heat.
Now, here at home, fires rage & kill as we debate if CC is real, like 5yr olds discussing Santa.

44°C is lethal to penguins. In Patagonia, they were forced to abandon their chicks - they tried to make it to the ocean, but hundreds died....so did their chicks.
This is the reality of climate change.
For them, an unlivable world is already here.
#Whales
Last year, Norway slaughtered 580 whales; many were pregnant.
Now, they are increasing whale kill numbers and have removed onboard whale welfare monitors.
They are worried about bad publicity, so let's give it to them.

An exciting observation - the first time ever recorded: a wild orangutan uses a plant called Akar Kuning - an anti-inflammatory & anti-bacterial plant - to treat a wound.
Our closest relative deserves our high respect & far greater protection

A young polar bear lies dead. Shot by Iceland's police.
This desperately hungry bear's extraordinary journey from Greenland ended when lured by food left out in the trash.
Iceland says it's cheaper to shoot polar bears than to relocate them.

A caribou mother cradles her newborn protectively in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge.
This has been their territory since the late Pleistocene, but today the Trump Administration announced plans to auction off these treasured lands to oil and gas leasing.
