- #FreyaTheWalrus Now they've killed Freya, the gentle walrus who meant no harm to anyone. It's indefensible. Wild animals increasingly have no safe place in this world. Every single person who ignored the warnings should be deeply ashamed. She had her whole life to live.

- #ClimateCrisis As the Arctic warms, many polar bears have been found with bleeding ulcerative lesions on feet & loss of epidermal & dermal layers unlikely to heal without prolonged rest. Pain was so severe that gentle palpation elicited responses even under sedation. 🧵1/2
- #Nature What happens to a hedgerow if councils don't spray with herbicides. Not just pretty. Essential for insects to pollinate crops & feed birds; habitat for small mammals, on which many depend, including owls. Hedgerows are one of nature's last refuges. Tell your council.

- #ClimateCrisis 44°C is lethal to penguins. In Patagonia, they were forced to abandon their chicks - they tried to make it to the ocean, but hundreds died....so did their chicks. This is the reality of climate change. For them, an unlivable world is already here.

- #ClimateCrisis Monkeys are dropping dead from the trees in Mexico as extreme heat is due to surpass 113°F (45C). 85 dead mantled howler monkeys (alouatta palliata) have been reported, but many more may have died.
