Zoologists believe foxes are currently trying to become domesticated. They’re taking on cat/dog like behaviors hoping humans will take on the burden of feeding and caring for them because they’re tired of the wild.
    Readers added context
Foxes and other wild animals accept food from humans due to being habituated—causing them to lose their natural survival instincts—not because they want to be cared for. Feeding wildlife poses many risks to both humans and animals fws.gov/story/hidden-h… discoverwildcare.org/wp-content/upl…

This is not an invasion, locals are not panicking 🤦 This "beach" is part of the Pantanal aka the largest tropical wetland, as well as perhaps the most pristine, in the world. Oh, and, these are not crocodiles - they are Yacare caiman.

This golf club used 377,630 gallons of water daily in 2021. Yes, daily. To compare, the average local home uses 167 gallons per day. Expecting javelinas, a native animal, to avoid food resources on a course while urban expansion is taking over their habitat is hilarious to me.

Come along with me on my carnage (I mean course) check this morning. What should be one of the most beautiful golf courses in the country is being destroyed by herds of javelina. If anyone has a contact in AZ state govt that can help us find a solution please pass it along.

Now THAT'S something you don't see everyday! This is footage of a pseudo - melanistic tiger from a camera trap in Similipal Tiger Reserve. Although increased production of melanin is seen across several wildcat species, it is a rare phenomenon among tigers. 📹 Susanta Nanda

Not only do Clouded leopards possess claws and paws specifically adapted for conforming to the shape of tree branches, but, they also have ankle joints that are able to rotate completely backwards. This makes them one of the best climbers in the cat family!

If a tiger can earn the right to be called queen, Machli certainly earned it. She killed a 14-foot croc, defended her territory against larger males, and raised cubs even after she’d lost her canine teeth and the use of one eye. Most wild tigers only live to 12, she lived to 19.
