Mine is clinical: As an F1 we had a major haemorrhage on the ward Grabbed the first computer I saw to put in a request for urgent blood products, whilst calling the lab Senior nurse who sees what is going on, PULLS MY CARD out of the computer, logging me off as I’m giving

Overworked, underpaid, and subjected to unnecessary hostility. An NHS doctor was prevented from accessing the ward kitchen for a simple glass of tap water. It’s no surprise so many doctors are leaving for countries where they’re valued, respected, and treated with basic dignity.

🚨🚨Lost for words again. The danger that patients, like the one below, are put in when assessed by a PA instead of a doctor can lead to serious morbidity or death. Is this what we want for our families? Replacing doctors with PAs will be the medical scandal of this century.

⚠️This is huge. There have been 12 Never Events linked to PAs in Scotland. Scotland has *143* PAs The NHS had 407 NEs (likely mostly doctors) in a year. The UK has 376,000 docs If PA NE ratio was extrapolated to doctors that’d be 31,552 Never Events What’s coming is scary ☠️

This is appalling. Mid 50s, cancer red flags ignored by PAs for 8 months. This could be your dad. The UK is failing patients, and planning to fail many more with the dangerous long term workforce plan.

A very worried senior doctor expressing concerns on a Facebook group. This is what an unbiased, ethical stance looks like. They are 100% correct, and most of us have experienced the same. The trajectory is scary, inefficient, unsafe and immoral. ☠️ ☠️ ☠️
