I think people don't get how important this movie's failure was. This was meant to start the DCEU, and they tried doing EXACTLY what MCU did, a flick about a classic, lesser known character with some recent success to draw on, as a funny jerk to hero tale, and it failed miserably

I love how most the dudes there don't even care about being cheated on, they're focused entirely on "raising someone else's kid". Yeah, fun fact, if finding out the kid you're raising isn't biologically yours would change how you feel about them, you shouldn't be a parent.

David Corenswet and Zachary Levy are the same types of superhero actors. Both are acting like a superhero archetype vs being one like Henry. Henry didn't put on a fake voice or pretend to be what “Superman is” he just was Superman.

And note this was almost right after the Blackest Night, with an animated movie and a cartoon as a tie-in to this, the Green Lantern franchise was just at the reach of becoming the huge success Johns wanted it to be.
