It takes a very special person to be a first responder and our firefighters are no exception. They never quit, no matter the incident or whatever the environment throws at them. Thank you to our incredible firefighters. 📸: Sunday, February 16, 2025

Hey #yeg, remember the brave cat who jumped from a burning balcony on Jasper Ave? We have great news to share! One of our dispatchers has given "Jasper" a fur-ever home and he's settling right in.

Today we mourn the loss of one of our own. Firefighter Marc Renaud passed on August 26 while off duty. He will be missed by all those who had the privilege of working with him and the many others whose lives he touched.

Canada Day duckling rescue! Tonight, 7 ducklings were swept approx 10’ down a storm drain. The crew used a fan to blow the little duckies through the 30’ pipe (between 2 manholes) into a basket at the other end. All ducklings are safe and accounted for. Way to go Pump 5!

Eventful afternoon in downtown #yeg. Harsh winds blew scaffolding into Stantec Tower calling on the need for both a Ladder Truck & the Technical Rescue Team. Crews working on the scaffolding were secured properly and are fortunately unharmed. Thank you @ahs_ems & @edmontonpolice!

Back in 1988, Shirley Benson was the first woman to join EFRS. 30 years later, she is now the longest serving woman in Canada & the first woman with EFRS to reach the rank of District Chief. We are so proud of District Chief Benson! #yeg #yegfire ow.ly/tkHC30j6kDS
