- The @EUI_EU @EUI_Schuman is re-opening applications for Jean Monnet Fellowships for mid-career researchers who have been displaced by the violent conflict in Ukraine. Applications can start now, and consideration will start 28 March. The fellowships are available immediately. 1/n
- Yesterday was my last official day @SAISHopkins before starting my leave to join @EUI_Schuman @EUI_EU. My time at SAIS started as a graduate student in 1988. I had many interesting jobs after I graduated but coming back to SAIS was always my dream. 1/
- Italian trust in the EU down to 27% from 42% last year. If there was a recovery in attitudes, that is gone now. Meanwhile more Italians want to get closer to China than to the US, particularly in the Five Star Movement. Center right voters are still looking across the Atlantic.
- Economic performance is often a matter of narrative (Shiller), perception (Philippon), and crisis (Gerber); as a result, the 'truth' in economics is not always what it seems.
- I felt a bit of impostor syndrome when I got to the Delphi Economic Forum, but I think I am over it now.

- Italian PM Giuseppe Conte is announcing unprecedented restrictions on freedom of movement. As someone who criticized him consistently when he was appointed, I am humbled by his skill at delivering an impossible message in reassuring and informative tones. So important. Well done.
