Wild 100s gang members Lawrence Turner and Ronnell Bowman, both of Milwaukee were sentenced to life in federal prison for conspiracy to commit murder for hire plus ten years consecutive imprisonment for using, carrying, and discharging a firearm during a crime of violence in the

A quote from FBI Milwaukee SAC Alan Karr on the sentencing of two gang members to life in prison plus 10 years. Karr: “The FBI is committed to aggressively investigating those who participate in violent criminal acts and those who steal from the American taxpayer. Ronnell Bowman and Lawrence Turner did both. Bowman, Turner, and their co-conspirators stole from funds meant to help those who were unemployed and then spent the money on lavish items, drugs, and guns. The two then entered a conspiracy to have someone murdered out of revenge. This sentencing holds them to account for demonstrating the highest forms of greed and violence. The FBI, together with our law enforcement partners, remains dedicated to holding violent offenders and fraudsters accountable.”

FBI Milwaukee Special Agent in Charge Alan Karr provided a statement on the guilty plea of a Wisconsin man who defrauded 190 victims of over $14M. Karr: “The FBI will always follow the money to root out investment fraud schemes. Stanley Pophal operated a multiyear scheme in which he made false promises to investors. His actions led to the victimization of people while Pophal pocketed their money. Pophal then spent victim’s money to fund his personal life and hobbies to include payment of his mortgage and purchasing hundreds of snowmobiles. In addition to Pophal’s guilty plea, he will be ordered to pay significant financial restitution. The FBI is committed to working with our partners to bring those who seek to enrich themselves by taking advantage of others to justice.”
