~13yrs of neoadjuvant adventure comes to positive conclusion (for now)! In @NEJM today & presented at #ASCO25 5 yr survival for pts w lung cancer that can be removed by surgery is better with just 3 doses of immunotherapy before the operation! nejm.org/doi/full/10.10… #LCSM 1/

Today, CheckMate 816, a phase 3 trial of neoadjuvant chemo + nivolumab immunotherapy was published i - this was a global effort to improve the lives of pts dealing with newly diagnosed surgical lung cancer. nejm.org/doi/full/10.10…

Anyone still think we should not be using immune checkpoint inhibitors before surgery? Or that use of adjuvant ICI only is as good as neoadjuvant ICI? Phase 3 trial in resectable melanoma now in @NEJM concurrent with plenary by @ProfCUBlankNKI #ASCO24 nejm.org/doi/full/10.10…

Impressive increase in PFS with consolidation osimertinib after CRT for pts w unresectable stage III lung cancer. Crossover on progression 82% higher than in most other studies. OS far from mature. Will be adopted as a new standard where it is available I believe. #lcsm #ASCO24

The new standard of care is consolidation immunotherapy for limited stage small cell lung cancer & the first systemic therapy advance for limited small cell in ~50yrs. Allied to Laura we had fun on the @ASCO non-metastatic NSCLC/SCLC/meso track committee this year! #lcsm #ASCO24
