    Stephen Warnock just said that Benteke did so well at Villa because he had Stewart Downing supplying the crosses. Downing left Villa in summer of 2011. Beneteke joined Villa in summer of 2012. Warnock himself was still at Villa until January 2013. #avfc

    Nobody mentioned the ref last night, Clement Turpin (AKA Trossard's Dad) and the reason was that he is class and levels above EPL refs. Did his job with no fuss and in full control but let the game flow. Plus got the pen decision spot on. 👏 #avfc

    If neither Newcastle nor Villa can sustainably penetrate the top 6 with the financial weight of their owners, the playing talent and managerial acumen at their disposal then it really is a closed shop. Next 12-24 months will tell us the answer. #avfc #nufc

    Gutting as it was conceding that late goal, walking away from ground a small part of me couldn't help feeling pleased for Leeds. They play some cracking stuff under Bielsa, have had years in doldrums & deserve some good times. Away fans were quality too. #AVFC #lufc
