- RIP to Bill Walton, whose on-air insight into hoops and a lot of other things was often goofy but just as often profound (especially the "non-BB stuff") . . . It's a shame that the majority of those who know of him have NO IDEA how skilled and dominant a player he was.

- I avoid cliches, no matter how long they've been part of mainstream conversation . . . But one of relative recent vintage is "he's a real one" – a term =ing "great" . . . and nothing "fake" . . . That described Mike Law perfectly. Damn, he'll be missed. Rest in Power, brother.
- The coach at the helm the last time the UCLA Bruins won a mens' national title in hoops (1995), Jim Harrick, will be honored by @ClassicAtDamien on the evening of Dec. 27 in Damien's Athletic Center. Many of his former players and assistant coaches are expected to be on hand!
- My mom, gone for about 12 and a half years, would have turned 87 today. There hasn't been a day since Oct. 30, 2007 that I haven't missed her dearly.
- RIP to Coach Olson and prayers up for his immediate and very-extended families. One of many mentors, also including Bob Boyd, Rick Majerus, George Raveling and Jerry Tarkanian, who helped teach me how basketball should be coached, played and written about.
