We have more horses than dairy cows in the US (9.5 vs 9 Million). Not to mention 140 Million dogs & cats consuming the equivalent amount of food as 70 Million people. Curious why cows but never horses, dogs or cats are an environmental issue. Food for thought.

UPDATE: The @UN has deleted their tweet claiming meat is responsible for more greenhouse gas emissions than the world’s largest oil companies. It was the appropriate thing to do. Slowly but surely, we're starting to put the toothpaste back into the tube.

Recently, I went shopping w/ my 5 yr old daughter when a sample giver lady asked us: “Sir, may I interest you in some dairy-free yoghurt?”. My daughter turned to her and said: “No thanks, we love cows!”. Proud daddy...

We have more horses than dairy cows in the US (9.5 vs 9 Million). Not to mention 163 Million dogs & cats consuming the equivalent amount of food as 70 Million people. Curious why cows but never horses, dogs or cats are in the news as an environmental issue. Food for thought.

The statement that one meatless day per week is equivalent to not driving for 6 months is inaccurate and misleading in dangerous ways. It suggests that our main carbon emitting activity is meat eating and it de-emphasizes the use of fossil fuel activities such as driving.

'The single biggest thing you can do is to cut out meat one day a week. It will save a ton of carbon a year - the equivalent of not driving for 6 months.' @Lauratobin1's advice on how to help tackle climate change. @piersmorgan, are you in??

IT'S. NOT. THE. COW. FARTS. Nearly all enteric methane from cattle is from belching. Suggesting otherwise turns this serious climate topic into a joke. Reducing methane is a HUGE opportunity. That should be a goal. But we shouldn't trivialize it for trendy marketing. #COWSMENU

Burger King is improving its cows' low-carb diet by adding 100 grams of lemongrass to reduce methane emissions (aka cow farts), one of the key contributors to climate change. cnn.it/3foafcZ

In 1950, we had 25 million dairy cows in the US. Today, we have slightly over 9 million cows in the US (human population approx 320M). With the much smaller herd today vs 1950, we produce 60% more milk, which reduced the carbon footprint by 2/3. /1
